rwalk LA Fitness will reopen after being closed by the Health Department

NORWALK – LA Fitness reopened after shutdown due to violation of the reopening rules.

According to city spokesman Josh Morgan, the gym was allowed to reopen on December 4th after a reopening plan was presented to the city.

"LA Fitness has been very responsive and presented a reopening plan on December 2nd that addresses concerns from the Department of Health and Police," said Morgan.

The gym was originally slated to close on December 1 after health officials found members did not wear masks or maintained social distancing during exercise. rwalk Health Director Deanna D’Amore said the facility was also unable to enforce the revised capacity limits.

The inspection came after complaints from customers about non-compliance with reopening rules, officials said.
