There are times when children toast their parents in ways that even the parents couldn't resist laughing at.
Children are unpredictable and will blurt out what comes to mind, which can lead to fun conversations. There are times when kids did just that and toasted their parents in ways that even the parents couldn't resist laughing at.
Parenting can be frustrating and stressful, but when your child does or says something cute or funny, they will remind you that those moments are worth the stress. Parenthood is easier when you can laugh your way through. That includes when you are the brunt of their jokes or when you are the brunt of their honesty.
It helps to know that you are not alone either. Many parents have been toasted by their own children and used on social media for sympathy and a few good laughs. w let's share some of our favorite tweets to help spread the laugh.
fifteen It's bad enough if your child doesn't recognize you in old photos, but it's worse if they offend the way you look
I'll never forget the day my little son asked, while looking at our wedding photo, "Mom, who is this lovely lady next to dad?"
– Ulla Meredith (@UllaMeredith) February 10, 2020
We all don't age as well as Robert Downey Junior or Jennifer Aniston, but this mom was reminded of looking over old wedding photos with her son.
14th Which is worse: that voice in your head or in your child? At least you can silence that voice.
It's frustrating when the voice in your head telling you not to eat or exercise this takes shape as your own child.
13 We all had these hairstyles that we now regret
My husband had long hair when we got married (hair metal days). My son showed our wedding photo to a friend and "this was when my father was a girl". This photo was hidden
– Samantha Cross (@ samcross47) February 10, 2020
We have all made unfortunate choices about our hair in our past. This father was reminded when his son found a photo of his father with some of that awkward hair.
12th You may soon run out of danger, but you don't need to be reminded of it
You may not be inventing the cancer cure, but you don't want your child to tell you that you are missing in the brain department.
11 We all avoid taking pictures of ourselves to avoid those double chins. But this mother had her daughter to remind them that they are still there.
My daughter looked at me adoringly and said, "Mom, I love you and your chins."
– Lara Ehrlich (@EhrlichLara), February 10, 2020
While this should be a sweet feeling, it didn't make this mother feel particularly good.
10 This child fondly reminded her mother of her flabby arms
My four year old leaned into my upper arm once and sighed. "Aaaah. I love mushy things."
– Emilie (@ doritos4dinner) February 10, 2020
The last thing we want is for even our kids to remind us that we should probably start exercising.
9 When even your child knows you're a hot mess
10: Mom, what's a metaphor?
Me: My life is a train wreck.
10: I know mom, but what is a metaphor?
– "Sardonic Tart" (@SardonicTart) December 12, 2014
Growing up is never easy and not everyone has it well under control. Sometimes we try to hide what a mess we are. But this mother couldn't even hide it from her own child.
8th Your children are your biggest critics sometimes
You may be the biggest critic of yourself internally, but externally, it belongs to your child. Sometimes children have no problem reminding you of your mistakes.
7th You may think you have your life together until your child reminds you that you are not
Me to my 5-year-old, who is balancing uncertainly on a stool: "Be careful – this is not very stable!"
You: "YOU are not very stable!" # Kidburn
– Gab-be-safe 😷 (@GabnDad) March 11, 2017
Maybe it's time to put your life together when even your 5 year old realizes you're a hot mess.
6th We all love to dress like bums at times, but we don't need to be reminded that sometimes we do it too much
Hilarious! If I showed up too early in nice clothes and lipstick, my girls would be horrified and say, "Do we have to go somewhere ?!"
– Bryn Adamson (@brynadamson) February 10, 2020
There is nothing better than coming home from work and putting on a sweat or pajamas. However, sometimes we turn those comfy pieces of clothing into a style that will alert our kids that if we deviate from it, it might be time to try a new style.
5 When viewed as replaceable by a cat
4 year old: can we have a kitten?
Me: I'm allergic. We can't be in the same house.
4: You could sleep outside.
– James Breakwell, Exploding Unicorn (@XplodingUnicorn) August 25, 2016
This 4 year old may need to take a closer look at his priorities if he thinks his father can be replaced with a kitten.
4th There is no better reminder of your age than your children
Neither parent likes to be reminded of their age. Just taking a look at how old your children are is bad enough to remind them that our ages are increasing rapidly. However, kids love to take the extra step of reminding us again that we are no longer spring chickens.
3 And sometimes they want to add a couple of years to your age
Me: “Do you see that? It's a fossil of a fish that lived 50 MILLION YEARS ago! "
7yo: "So you were almost born, right?"
– ReasonsMySonIsCrying (@ReasonsMySonCry) May 11, 2017
What's worse than being reminded to get older is when your children add millennia to your age. Turning 50 is one thing. It is a different thing to suddenly live from 50 to 50 million years old.
2 If you think you are a good cook but your child is letting you know that you are not Rachel Ray
Ich: We all make mistakes.
5: You too?
5: Oh yes! For example, when you try to cook food that tastes good but doesn't?
– Lurkin & # 39; Mom (@LurkAtHomeMom) April 15, 2016
Cooking is not for everyone, but it is important to have home-cooked meals for a healthy diet. But sometimes our hard work doesn't pay off, and our kids remind us that we'll never be Rachel Ray.
1 Microwave foods are still considered cooking, right?
"There should be a show called the best microwave mom in the world … you can be the host …". #smartasskid
– Angie Hill (@ Angie_Hill40) July 9, 2014
Microwave food is still made at home, so it still counts as a homemade meal, right? In the end, all that matters is that homemade meals are part of a child's diet.
