Naples has always been an exceptional place to spend your winter vacation. Warm – even mild, several acres of beaches, great fishing, gentle surf in the Gulf of Mexico and of course the legendary sunsets at Green Flash. Those proven joys and more are woven into the essential fiber of the Naples experience, but perhaps not as much of a focus lately as the long list of amenities and entertainments that have shaped the good life in Naples today. Glitzy homes, nationally ranked restaurants, breathtaking golf course communities, and world class shopping are now Naples' calling card. And we love everything and the pride they give.
On the other hand, the essence of Naples is always and always exactly where it belongs, and that is what the Antilles is all about. We are focusing again on this extraordinary subtropical paradise and rethinking how we want to live in it, but of course surrounded by all the state of emergency – local and new – that Naples offers just around the corner.
JMD Development, an Iowa-based real estate investment group with longstanding ties to the Southwest Florida marketplace, was formed to create a residential community that will be marketed for both their attention to Old Florida and their natural benefits of sun, serenity, and the sights and sounds can from the nature that it embraces as well as from the luxurious lifestyle that is now at the heart of the standard of living in Naples. JMD also set out to develop a community that would compete with other larger and older golf and high-membership communities with a dense population and increase fees and ratings for infrastructure aging.
The property is exactly what JMD wanted, fifty-four acres around its central five-acre Kingfisher Lake and the adjoining Wetland Preserve. Its location is at the heart of the Antilles and is at the quiet end of a long approach that is rich in native vegetation and colors. In the course of the development of the Antilles, many local waterfowl, birds and native species have been photographed in their habitats, which remain untouched in the wetland reserve of the Antilles. The larger Grand Coach Homes have the same four-unit configuration and also offer two floor plans. The first floor, three bedroom, two bathroom Nevis is 1,980 square feet under air, and the upper floor Montserrat is 2,444 square feet under air, with three bedrooms and two baths. Each residence also has a screened lanai and an attached two-car garage. An elevator option is available for Montserrat, which can be viewed in the Flamingo Club selection center. It can only be accommodated during the construction phase or only retrofitted to existing Grand Coach Homes. The decorated models of each of these larger floor plans will be the first to be offered for viewing and sale by the end of August 2020.
The construction of the first phase comprises two multiplex condominiums with three floor plans. It is an elevator building with twelve units, which were erected two floors above the parking lot on the ground floor. The residences on the top floor include closed garages. The end unit Antigua is the largest floor plan with 1,698 air-conditioned square meters. It offers three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large bay window for a wide view and pleasant meals. The Barbados is a slightly smaller floor plan at 1,549 square feet under air. The Curacao is the third multiplex floor plan and the only two bedroom, two bath residence in the Antilles. It has a huge master suite that runs almost the length of the unit and a walk-in closet that is only slightly smaller than the laundry room. The screened lanai expands the width of the Curacao and is accessible via the sliding doors of the Great Room or the Master Suite. Furnished models of the Antigua and Barbados floor plans will be released in Fall 2020.
